Welcome to Kruger National Park Safaris! Your gateway to one of the largest game reserves in Africa.
The Kruger Park covers 20 000 square kilometres (that’s nearly 8 000 square miles) and extends 375 kilometres from north to south and 65 kilometres from east to west. With such a waste area to explore, choosing the right guides is essential.
This website is dedicated entirely to helping you find the best safari company and the best tour guides for you.
Singita Sabi Sand consist of only three lodges, Ebony, Boulders and Castleton, situated in the Kruger National Park. The lodges are all unfenced – and according to the adverts “infused with the glamour and elegance of Singita”.
We stayed at the Boulders lodge which has a total of 12 rooms with air-condition, a good sized bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a reasonably sized living area with double-sided fireplace, a well stocked mini-bar and fridge, and a private wooden leisure decks with a tiny private heated pool.
Our first impression was not very good. The brochures had promised us a glorious view from our rooms, and yet we were stirring straight into a couple of very dry bushes. After the initial disappointment, however, we found some spots on the deck where the views were nicer, overlooking a nearby water hole.
The service was absolutely fantastic – and of top 5 star quality. The lodge operates on an all inclusive principle, which is very relaxing but obviously also drives the list price up quite a bit.
Our ranger, Mark, was extremely professional, tracking down wild dogs on the hunt, two prides of lions, and even leopards mating. We had an absolutely great time.
On the negative side, in addition to the lack of view that we have already pointed out, we did perhaps feel that the lodge had a bit worn feel to it. Broken floorboards, clogged drain in shower and so on. Not exactly what you expect at this price.
The lodge also focus a bit too much to our taste on a communal atmosphere. I am sure a lot the guests love meeting new people, but we are seasoned travelers and sometimes we would like to have been offered a bit more privacy. When asked if you would like to drive out on a safari alone or together with the couple next door – while the couple next door is actually standing there – makes saying “no” a bit too hard.

On their website Imbali Safari Lodge promises guests an extraordinarily ‘special’ safari experience. And that is what we got! Set in its own 10 000 hectare concession area inside Kruger National Park this lodge is the perfect African utopia where guests will find peace and serenity in a luxury environment.
We found the lodge to be of top quality. It’s truly a place where you can forget the world. The rooms were romantic, spacious and nicely decorated. The private jacuzzi gives an extra luxury touch.
A highlight of our trip was the early morning safaris with our rangers. We saw all the Big 5 and spotted many, many more animals. The safari rangers were very professional and well trained.
On the negative side, we did feel that perhaps the lodge has fallen a bit behind on maintenance.
